Christmas

The family came over to our house Christmas Day and everyone had so much fun. We were exhausted when it was over, but it was all worth it! The games we played this year were Apples to Apples and Catch Phrase. We were up way past midnight playing. Hilariously funny games, we will definitely play them again next year.

CHRISTMAS TREE

This year we invited our family and friends to go with us to Apple Hill (Placerville ;near Lake Tahoe) to cut down our Christmas tree (we never cut our own before). It was so much fun! The area was surrounded by big redwood trees and cute little barns that sold crafts, fruits, fudge and everything you can think of made with apples (Fritters, doughnuts, pies, carmel apples). We had lots of little ones with us who loved the face painting, hay rides, and ponies.

Afterwards our friend Michele and her daughter, Sausha, came over to help decorate the tree. Sausha was so excited to put the star on top and then play with the race cars Tom set up under the tree.

The next morning we enjoyed our coffee with fresh “black Arkansas” apples and homemade apple butter on our toast. YUMMY

HALLOWEEN

We had a blast this year. The weekend before Halloween, I picked up the young girl I am working with from her Foster Home and we went to the Boo Zoo. They had everything decorated for Halloween, Trick-Or-Treating and a fun scavenger hunt.

On Halloween after we all got of work friends came over with their little ones for pizza (which took 3hrs to get delivered), Fondue, and Trick-Or Treating. The two, two year olds dressed up as a UPS and Fed Ex Delivery guy, so cute!

OCTOBER (Week Three Cont....)

OUR 24HR ADVENTURE TO YOSEMITE NATL. PARK

Thursday we decided we were going to ride to Yosemite Natl. Park after we got off work on Friday and then come back today. We called the park before we left and there we no vacancies, so we figured we'd get as close as we could and just crash at the nearest Hotel and drive the rest of the way this morning. There were little options of places to stay but we found a VERY old (clean) motel in Groveland that was 48 miles outside the park. We've both gone to Yosemite many times, but the views from a motorcycle were amazing! We can't wait to take spontaneous trips with our kids (in a car of course)...

October (Week Three)

We finally got around to putting out Halloween decorations.

October (Week Two)

A friends daughter turned 1 this month and she came over to learn to make Halloween cakepops for the party. The party was awsome! So many kids were there. I think the adults had just as much fun as them!

October (Week One)

It has been an exciting month so far. We went to Treasure Island in SF to see the Blue Angels air show with some friends. We had a wonderful picnic, played with the kids and watched the amazing show in the sky!

Contact Us

We are working with Independent Adoption Center (IAC)

Expectant Mother Benefits: IAC helps facilitate the adoption plan (works out contact agreements and expenses), offers grief counseling to the birthmom before and after birth, as well as counsel the adoptive couple. In addition, they offer the birthmom free counseling services after placement for up to 18 years.

We would like an open adoption and wish to be connected with a birthmother who feels the same. Our plans are to share photos, emails, and occasional visits with the birthmother and hope it gives her (and the child) the comfort they need knowing the right choice was made.

We are easy to talk to and can be contacted dircetly, but understand not everyone would be comfortable doing that.

Waiting..... ?

Waiting to adopt is like the worlds longest pregnancy!

Our wait feels like it has been so long. It has to be normal to think "is this really going to happen" ? And when it does happen, when?

We know that someone searching for adoptive couple will see what honest, genuine people we truly are. We make a special point to be ourselves in all our Blogs, Letters, Pictures, Web and Facebook so whoever does choose us as the adoptive parents for their baby , knows we are exactly who we said we are. We are excited to be parents!

Games, Food, Pools, and Fireworks

We had fun at our overnight get away! Went to the Hyatt Convention Center for "California Extreme" the banquet room was filled with hundreds of video games and old pinball machines. We stayed at the Hilton across the street and our room window faced the entrance to Six Flags Great America. We played for hours, hung out with an old friend, had a nice dinner, chilled out by the pool, and watched fireworks from our room. Nice to have fun without a bunch of hubb-bubb! We were home by 11am. Great 24hr adventure!

This past weekend we did some baking.

We also finally got our garden started. We planted big tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, red bellpepper and cucumber.

Plans for this weekend :

Saturday is our RV and hiking Trip to the Pinaccles National Monument with friends and on Sunday we registered for a "Ride for a Cure" fundraiser at Carnagie Off Highway Vehichle Recreation Park. Seeking to Adopt

www.tomandshariadopt.com
We are seeking to adopt.

Drive Thru Redwood

On our way home from Glass Beach we past through a town called Leggett. They had the famouse Drive Thru Tree. We all heard about this tree growing up and always wanted to see it. VERY cool highlight of our trip!! There was barely enough room for our car , may 1/4 inch!

Glass Beach Trip

Yesterday we went to Ft. Bragg, along with our; niece, sister , and B-I-L,to see Glass Beach. It was pouring rain! The drive was 3 1/2 Hrs long. The trip took us through some gorgous Redwoods on our way to the coast (Hwy 1). The town was having a clam chowder competition at the city hall so we stop by there to warm up our bellies before going to the beach. When we got there we took in the view, collected some treasures, and decided to started back home. Glass Beach was neat to see and might have been more enjoyable had it not been 40 degrees and raining, but we made the best of it.
